Job summary

Frome Community College in Frome, England, is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Maths) to support students in the Maths Department. The role is temporary to cover maternity leave, 31.25 hours per week, term-time with inset days, starting ASAP.

You will work under supervision to provide numeracy support, assist with classroom activities, and contribute to an inclusive learning environment. The salary range is pro rata in the scale for Grade 2, points 4-5 (£18,878–£19,176 per annum).

Teaching Assistant (Maths)

Temporary to cover Maternity Leave

Grade 2, Point 4-5, £26,016 - £26,427 per annum, pro rata

Actual salary £18,878 - £19,176 per annum

31.25 hours per week, Term Time & Inset Days

Start date: ASAP

We are eager to hear from you if you are a dedicated, highly motivated, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with experience in supporting young people to enhance their learning opportunities. The successful applicant will be working within the Maths Department to provide numeracy support to students. Working Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:15pm Term Time and Inset days. This is a Temporary role to cover Maternity Leave.

To be considered for the role you will be able to demonstrate that you are:

• Able to provide excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate well with young people focusing on access to learning whilst building positive working relationships.
• Able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team.
• Able to provide clear instructions and guidance, using coaching and listening skills to support young people with access to learning.
• Able to promote an ethos of inclusion and equal opportunities for all, regardless of any special educational needs.
