Job summary

Cotham School in Bristol is seeking an experienced Maths Teacher and Form Tutor to cover maternity leave. The post is 0.7 FTE on a fixed term contract starting 01.01.2027 for 9-12 months, covering KS3–KS5 across all ability ranges.

You will deliver engaging Maths lessons, contribute to student progress, and participate in after-school activities and the school’s development. DBS clearance is required and probation applies.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching Mathematics to KS3–KS5 across ability ranges.
• Ability to deliver engaging lessons and secure strong outcomes.
• Willingness to contribute to department development and improvement.

Hours/Contract: 0.7, this is a fixed term contract starting from 01.01.2027 for 9-12 months covering maternity leave. The fixed term contract will come to an end when the post holder returns.

Probation period: this role is subject to passing a satisfactory probation period

Cotham School, a successful, vibrant and diverse 11-18 comprehensive school, wishes to appoint an experienced Mathematics Teacher and Form Tutor. The successful applicant will have the necessary knowledge, skills and vision to teach Mathematics at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5 across all ability ranges.

You will be:

• A well-qualified, highly motivated and engaging teacher of Mathematics, able to deliver engaging lessons and secure strong outcomes across the age and ability range at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
• A creative and innovative team player; willing to contribute to the development of students' learning and their progress within a committed and forward looking faculty.
