Job summary

Friesland School is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to join our committed team. You will work in partnership with teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum and school policies, helping students achieve their best.

You will assist students with varying needs, including SEND, to access learning and progress toward targets. The role requires patience, teamwork and a dedication to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Supports learning in line with the national curriculum; works with teachers to support student progress.
  • Helps students with varying needs including learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties.
  • Contributes to meeting targets and progress for students not on SEND register.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning in partnership with teachers to deliver curriculum-aligned activities.
  • Assist students with diverse needs to access learning and participate in class.
  • Help monitor and support student progress toward targets in line with school policies.

Job description

Grade and Salary Grade 2: £19,527 - £20,471 actual salary per annum (£25,185 - £26,403 FTE)

Working pattern 33.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Teaching Assistant to join an already existing committed team at Friesland School. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic hard-working and is passionate about supporting young people achieve their best. The successful candidate will work in partnership with teachers to support learning in line with the national curriculum, codes of practice, policies and procedures.

The person:

Patience will be key to this role as you will be supporting students in a specific curriculum area or support students with varying degrees of learning, behavioural, communication, social, sensory or physical difficulties. You will play an integral part in ensuring students with any degree of SEND meet targets and progress in line with students not on the SEND register.
