Job summary

Abbey Park Primary School in Pershore is seeking a Level 3 Teaching Assistant to lead our Inclusion Room, delivering targeted interventions and supporting children with SEMH needs to develop resilience and confidence. Are you an enthusiastic, nurturing and creative Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children to overcome barriers to learning? Abbey Park Primary School is looking for an outstanding Level 3 Teaching Assistant to lead our Inclusion Room. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to take responsibility for developing a welcoming, purposeful space where children can receive targeted support and develop the skills, confidence and resilience they need to thrive. Our Inclusion Room will provide a flexible environment for children who need additional support at different points during the school day. You will work closely with class teachers, our Inclusion Lead and SENDCo to ensure that support is carefully planned around individual children's needs and targets. What will you be doing? You will:

• Lead and develop our Inclusion Room, creating a calm, engaging and inclusive environment.
• Deliver a range of targeted interventions linked to children's individual needs and targets.
• Support children with academic needs, including targeted interventions to address gaps in learning.
• Support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them to develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and positive relationships.
• Work closely with teachers, the Inclusion Lead and SENDCo to plan and review interventions.
• Deliver sessions according to an agreed timetable, ensuring that children's support is coordinated with their classroom learning.
• Monitor children's progress and contribute to discussions about next steps.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with children and help them to recognise and celebrate their strengths.
• Provide opportunities for children to develop practical skills, independence and confidence.
• Lead engaging activities such as cooking, outdoor learning, creative activities and practical learning experiences.
• Adapt activities and approaches to meet the needs of individual children.
• Contribute to a wider culture of inclusion across the school., This is much more than a traditional Teaching Assistant role. You will have the opportunity to lead and develop an important area of our school provision, working closely with our Inclusion Lead and SENDCo to shape how we support children with additional needs.
