Pegasus Primary School in Birmingham has opened a brand-new nursery provision for 2–4 year olds. We are seeking a caring Level 3 Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our growing team and help establish a nurturing, high-quality environment where children can explore, play and learn.

You will plan and deliver EYFS activities, support children's development and wellbeing, act as a key worker and build strong relationships with children and families, while monitoring progress and safeguarding

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification required.
  • Experience in an early years or nursery setting.
  • Strong EYFS knowledge and excellent communication with children, parents and professionals.
  • Caring, enthusiastic and team-focused approach.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.

Pegasus Primary School has opened a brand-new nursery provision in September 2026 for children aged 2-4 years. Our nursery has been designed to provide a high-quality early years environment that supports children's curiosity, communication, creativity and independence through carefully planned learning experiences and purposeful play.

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and ambitious Level 3 teaching assistant to join our growing Early Years team and help establish a nurturing, inspiring and high-quality nursery environment for our youngest learners.

About the Role

You will play a key part in delivering high-quality care and education within our nursery, supporting children aged 2-4 years in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. You will work closely with colleagues to ensure every child is supported to reach their full potential.

What We're Looking For
  • Full and relevant level 3 Childcare/ Early Years qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working in an early years or a nursery setting
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents and professionals and a strong knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework
  • A caring, enthusiastic and team-focused approach
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
