Job summary

Carmarthenshire County Council is seeking two Level 3 Teaching Assistants for CSTLC to educate secondary pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The role includes emotional wellbeing support, 1:1 supervision, and small-group academic and pastoral assistance at CSTLC in Carmarthen and Burry Port.

A basic Welsh language level is required with support provided on appointment. An enhanced DBS check will be requested, and the position is permanent term-time.

Qualifications

  • Welsh language level (basic) required with support to reach level.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional wellbeing support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

  • Deliver wellbeing programmes and guide students returning to mainstream timetables.

We are seeking to employ Level 3 Teaching Assistants at CSTLC, educating secondary aged pupils who demonstrate social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. The person will provide emotional wellbeing support in addressing the needs of pupils who require particular help to overcome barriers to learning. As a Level 3 Teaching Assistant the post will also involve supervising 1:1 pupils where required alongside small groups of pupils to deliver academic support, pastoral support and guiding wellbeing programmes to pupils excluded from, or not otherwise working to, a mainstream school timetable.

A basic knowledge of Welsh is required for this post. Support can be provided on appointment to reach this level.

DBS level:
