Oakwood School in Walsall, a specialist provision for children with complex educational needs, seeks a Teaching Assistant Level 2. You will work under supervision to support pupils’ learning, care and personal development in a safe, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities include implementing IEPs and behaviour plans, promoting inclusion, assisting with ICT, and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere. The Mercian Trust supports staff development and opportunities within a caring school

Competenze

• ICT to support learning.
• Ability to use ICT and equipment including video and photocopier.
• Understanding of policies, codes of practice and relevant legislation.
• Knowledge of national/foundation stage curriculum and basic learning strategies.
• Basic understanding of child development and learning.
• Self-evaluate learning needs and seek opportunities.
• Relate well to children and adults.
• Teamwork within classroom roles and responsibilities.
• Equality of opportunity awareness.
• Experience with children of relevant age.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• TDA induction completion.
• NVQ Level 2 in ST&L or equivalent.
• Training in relevant learning strategies.
• First aid training or willingness to undertake training.

Mansioni

• Support pupils’ learning, care and personal development under staff guidance.
• Supervise and provide support for pupils, including those with SEN, ensuring safety.
• Assist with IEPs, Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
• Establish positive relationships with pupils and interact to meet needs.

• Provide feedback on pupils’ progress under teacher guidance.
