Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to support Maths and English learners across GCSE and Functional Skills. The role involves in-class assistance, targeted learner support, and resource preparation within a collaborative team.

Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths and a Level 3 qualification, with strong communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding. Right to work in the UK is required; DBS check will be carried out.

Qualifications

GCSE English and Maths at minimum with a Level 3 qualification to support delivery.
Experience supporting learners in an educational setting.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Provide in-class support for learners studying English and Maths (GCSE/Functional Skills).
Support learners with additional needs through one-to-one or small-group sessions.
Assist with preparing learning resources and monitoring learner progress.
Collaborate with tutors and other staff to promote attendance and inclusion.
Maintain confidentiality and participate in safeguarding and CPD activities.
