Job summary

Nene Park Academy is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support learning and student development. The role involves assisting the class teacher, supporting literacy and numeracy activities, and promoting inclusive practice within a 32.5 hour week during term-time plus training days.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or equivalent in English Language and Maths.
• Experience of supporting children in a classroom environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding of phonics, numeracy, and literacy development.
• Sound grasp of inclusive practice.
• Ability to work closely with pupils who are finding learning difficult, or who have experienced failure.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Class Teacher to enable access to learning for students and aid in management of students and the classroom.
• Undertake work, care, and support programmes to enable access to learning for students.
• Adapt and deliver learning activities with individuals or small groups using a different learning approach as agreed.
• Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
• Support students in respect of local and national learning strategies (e.g., literacy, numeracy, KS3, KS4, ICT).
• Organise the learning environment and develop classroom resources as needed.
• Supply detailed and regular feedback to teachers on students’ achievement, progress, problems, etc.
