Job summary

Educators in Pontardawe is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in our foundation phase. You will work closely with the class teacher to deliver a broad, balanced curriculum and help the pupil access learning opportunities.

This temporary role runs 27.5 hours per week over 39 weeks, with the contract extending to 31 August 2027. The successful candidate will have ALN experience, a caring, patient approach, and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil

Qualifications

• Experience of working with young children, ideally in a foundation phase.
• Knowledge of ALN (Additional Learning Needs)
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff, pupils and carers.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil in foundation, meeting their learning, emotional and developmental needs.
• Support the class teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum.
• Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment and promote pupil independence and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, ALNCo, external professionals and parents/carers.

Llangiwg Primary School is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, caring and committed Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil within our foundation phase. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a pupil with additional learning needs to access learning opportunities, develop independence and fully participate in school life. About the Role

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Have experience of working with young children, ideally within a foundation phase setting.
• Be patient, caring and able to build strong, positive relationships
• Have an understanding of supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN)
• Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork and a proactive approach
• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

• Have excellent communication skills.
