Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Tal-y-bont seeks two Level 2 Teaching Assistants to support learning and development in a Welsh-English bilingual environment. Fixed-term until 19 March 2027 and 31 August 2027, with DBS check and safeguarding emphasis. Salary £26,016 per year. Applications via internal/external portal.

Two posts available, welcoming candidates who are flexible, proactive, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, families and staff. Closing date 23 September 2026.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both Welsh and English.
• Experience working with or caring for children.
• Holds NVQ 3 or equivalent and good literacy/numeracy.
• Can use ICT effectively to support learning.
• Positive, flexible and able to build strong relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.

About the role

Are you passionate about supporting children's learning and development? Ysgol Gynradd Gymunedol Tal-y-bont is seeking two dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistants to join the team as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in the classroom and beyond.

These are fixed-term appointments until 19 March 2027 and 31 August 2027, in the first instance.

• Provide support to pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them access learning and build confidence.
• Work with teachers to deliver engaging lessons and activities.
• Support the development of Individual Education and Behaviour Plans.
• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive behaviour.
• Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources, and wider school activities.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is fluent in both Welsh and English.
• Has experience of working with or caring for children.
• Holds relevant qualifications (NVQ 3 or equivalent) and good literacy/numeracy skills.
• Can use ICT effectively to support learning.
• Is positive, flexible, and able to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
• Understands the importance of safeguarding, inclusion, and teamwork.
