Job summary

Penwortham Primary School, Penwortham, Preston, Lancashire, is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team and help children become confident, independent learners. We are looking for someone who builds positive relationships, has high expectations, and can support early reading, phonics, writing and mathematics while supporting pupils with SEND and behavioural needs.

The post involves safeguarding with DBS checks and is part-time, term-time plus 5 inset days; pay is pro-rata

Summary Penwortham Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic, nurturing and proactive Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our team. We are looking for someone who combines high expectations with warmth and patience and who is passionate about helping children become confident, independent learners.

We are looking for someone who:

This post involves regulated activity with children. Appointment is subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check with barred list information where legally required, satisfactory references, identity and right-to-work checks, and other checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.

Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.

This position is part time, term time only plus 5 inset days, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro –rata basis.
