Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is hiring a Level 2 Teaching Assistant for Pocklington Junior School. The role is 30 hours per week, term time only, Monday to Friday, with a fixed term until 17 December 2027 and potential extension.

Immediate start available. You will work with teachers to support learning, deliver targeted interventions, and assist pupils, including those with additional needs, helping them progress academically and personally.

Qualifications

• Be enthusiastic, caring and committed to supporting children's learning and development.
• Experience with or passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Able to build positive relationships and demonstrate safeguarding awareness.

• Work closely with class teachers to support the delivery of high-quality learning experiences and targeted interventions.
• Support individual pupils and small groups to help them make excellent progress.
• Have experience of, or a genuine passion for, supporting children with additional needs.
• Be warm, patient, nurturing and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and contribute to maintaining a positive safeguarding culture.
• Deliver intervention programmes and targeted support effectively.
