Job summary

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is seeking a kind, inclusive Teaching Assistant at Roos C E (V C) Primary School on a fixed-term, term-time basis. The role is 13 hours per week (Thursday and Friday) with 8:45am–12:00pm and 12:30pm–3:45pm shifts, starting December 2026 (or earlier).

The post supports a designated pupil in-class and may involve working with small groups, under the Headteacher’s direction. Applicants must be fluent in English and committed to safeguarding.

On a fixed term, part time basis, we are seeking to recruit a kind, respectful, nurturing, inclusive, ambitious, honest, responsible, supportive, engaging Teaching Assistant to join our professional, hardworking, friendly team of staff from 7th December 2026, or earlier, if possible, at Roos C E (V C) Primary School.

The successful candidate will be required to provide one to one support in the classroom to a designated pupil or support individuals or small groups of pupils of varying abilities in any curriculum area as directed by the Headteacher.

The post is 13.00 hours offered on a term time only plus 5 five non-contact days fixed term contract, starting in December 2026, or earlier, if possible. The hours of work are expected to be Thursday and Friday 8:45am - 12 noon, 12:30pm to 3.45pm.

In this role you are required to speak English with sufficient fluency to effectively perform your duties, as required by Section 42 of the Immigration Act 2016.
