Job summary

Cambridge Park Academy is seeking a dedicated Specialist Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with a wide range of learning needs. The role covers both academic and social development within a committed school team.

You will work 32.5 hours per week during term-time plus 5 training days, with starting ASAP after pre-employment checks. Prior SEN experience is highly desirable and the school values inclusive practice and strong pupil relationships.

Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults in a learning environment who have multiple and complex SEN.
  • Understanding of National Curriculum, EYFS Guidance and codes of practice (SEN, Equalities, Safeguarding).
  • Effective use of ICT to support teaching and learning.
  • Ability to interact well using courtesy, tact and diplomacy and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to establish professional, effective working relationships with a range of partners/colleagues and children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and provides specialist support for individuals with SEN, disabilities, personal and health needs, EAL, etc. ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Support pupils in implementing their own personal care programmes, providing extra support for those unable to be independent with social, welfare, care and health matters, including toileting, dressing, feeding, mobility, use of personal/learning aides, etc
  • Prepares, maintains and uses resources to meet the lesson plans/learning activity and assists learners in their use.
  • Promotes good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with school procedures, encouraging learners to take responsibility for their own behaviour
  • Develops displays within and outside the classroom

Salary: £25,614 Full-time equivalent, £19,330 Actual salary, £13.28/Hr
Hours of work: 32.5/week, Mon 8.40am - 4.30pm, Tues/Weds/Fri 8.40am - 3.10pm, Thurs 8.40am - 4.20pm
Contract: Permanent, Term-time + 5 training days
Start date: ASAP following pre-employment checks

Cambridge Park Academy is seeking to appoint a dedicated and suitably qualified Teaching Assistant to join our committed and supportive team. You will be working with children and young people aged 3–19 who have a wide range of learning needs, helping them to thrive both academically and socially.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable individual who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of our pupils. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in supporting learners with diverse abilities and disabilities and will be willing to work across all age groups within the school.

Previous experience supporting children with learning disabilities is highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of relevant strategies and approaches. A commitment to inclusive practice, flexibility, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff are essential.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
  • Experience of working with children, young people and/or vulnerable adults in a learning environment who have multiple and complex Special Educational Needs
  • An understanding of National Curriculum, EYFS Guidance and other codes of practice e.g. SEN, Equalities, Safeguarding
  • Effective use of ICT to support teaching and learning
