About The Role

Are you a friendly and child-centred person? Are you passionate about supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs?

• The overarching purpose of the role is to work with pupils who have learning difficulties, usually with a statement of Special Educational Needs.
• The ideal Teaching Assistant Level 2 will be prepared to support very special young people.
• You will be required to prepare and adapt materials suitable for pupils with learning difficulties, facilitate small group and 1:1 sessions, and support their specialised curricula.

About The School

The role will be within a Primary or SEND specialist school in Blackpool and surrounding areas, supporting young people with barriers to learning and SEND needs.

As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will meet the holistic needs of pupils under the guidance of the class teacher and senior support staff, including working 1:1 with students with SEND needs and potential challenging behaviours.

There are opportunities for this role to become permanent after a qualifying period.

Requirements

• Hold a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Prior experience working as a TA within schools (desirable).
• Ability to motivate and support pupils to stay on task and complete work.
• Enthusiasm for supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
• Commitment to personal learning and development.
