Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Nelson
Salary: £13.75 - £14 per hour
Contract Type: Full-time (temporary)
Start Date: Monday 1st September 2025
The Role:
We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of additional needs, both in the classroom and during intervention sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN, ensuring they can access the curriculum
- Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
- Support pupils’ emotional and social development
- Foster a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment
About You:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (in a school or similar setting)
- A caring, adaptable, and resilient nature
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable
