Job summary

The Canons CE Primary School in Bedworth is seeking two experienced Teaching Assistants to support children in Key Stage 1 or 2. These are permanent roles with a 1-year fixed term and can start now or be delayed for the right candidate. All posts include Midday Supervisor duties to help provide a safe lunchtime environment.

Scale F, points 7–10, pro rata £27,274–£29,071 (actual approx £17,358–£18,501). Hours: 27.5 per week on a 39-week contract.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Childcare qualification or equivalent with KS1/KS2 experience.
• Maths and English at grade C or equivalent.
• Able to inspire children and set high standards for self and others.
• Work with parents and community; strong interpersonal skills; multitask in a busy environment.
• Energetic, enthusiastic and caring; good organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in Key Stage 1 or 2 in class and small groups.
• Carry out duties as Midday Supervisor to ensure safe lunchtimes.
• Work in partnership with teachers, parents and the community.
• Demonstrate excellent communication with children and colleagues.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and assist with classroom routines.

The Canons CE Primary School is a large 3-form entry school situated in Bedworth, we are an outstanding school (March 2025) and the Governors are looking to appoint 2 experienced Key Stage 1 or 2 Teaching Assistants. Experience in supporting children with SEND would be an advantage. We have a permanent role and a 1 Year fixed term position. The positions are ready to start now but we would be willing to wait till for the right candidate. All roles include Midday Supervisor duties, helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience for our children.

The hours are 27.5 on a 39 week contract.
The positions will be offered on Scale F, point 7 – 10 depending on experience. (Pro Rata – £27,274 – £29,071) - (Actual approx £17,358 - £18,501)

The successful candidate will:

• Have an NVQ Level 2 Childcare related qualification or equivalent Experience of working with Key Stage 1 or 2 children
