Job summary

Highfield Ely Academy in Ely, Cambridgeshire, is seeking two Teaching Assistant Level 1 staff to support pupils’ learning, independence and wellbeing across the school day.

You will work closely with teachers to engage children, assist with behaviour and prepare learning resources, contributing to a positive, inclusive classroom. This permanent full‑time role offers 32.5 hours across 39 weeks with a probation period.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals and small groups in the classroom, helping pupils understand tasks and stay engaged
• Assist teachers with behaviour management, inclusion and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Prepare and organise learning resources, classroom displays and equipment
• Provide pastoral support, including helping with pupils’ wellbeing, independence and social development
• Contribute to supervision, educational visits and basic record-keeping, ensuring a safe and supportive Setting
