Job summary

Herons' Moor Academy in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Teaching Assistant - Level 1 to support the educational, personal and social development of pupils under the direction of teachers and the SENCo. You will use inclusive approaches to help pupils access the curriculum, manage behaviour, and participate in planned activities.

The role is term-time with INSET days and starts January 2027, with a fixed-term contract funded through August 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience assisting in a primary classroom.
• Ability to work one-to-one or in small groups.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Willingness to undertake training.
• Commitment to inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of planned activities and teaching programmes.
• Adapt activities to pupils' individual needs and progress.
• Work with teachers and SENCo to support pupils' attainment.
• Monitor and support pupils' wellbeing and progress.
