Job summary

Tewkesbury Academy is seeking a Teaching Assistant – Level 1 to support pupils across a single form entry school in Gloucestershire. The role involves delivering planned activities, aiding access to the curriculum, and promoting pupil well‑being. You will adapt tasks to learners and collaborate with staff to raise attainment.

The post is permanent, 32 hours per week, term time plus inset days, with a start date around early November. Commitment to inclusion is essential.

Qualifications

• Willingness to undertake relevant qualifications (NVQ 2/3 or equivalent) in supporting teaching and learning.
• Strong interpersonal skills with empathy and active listening.
• Ability to engage students and manage behaviour one-to-one or in small groups.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored learning activities and support programmes as agreed with the teacher.
• Help students access the curriculum and improve engagement and well-being.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to fulfil role requirements and support school goals.
