Job summary

BEST Academies is seeking a Teaching Assistant - Level 1 at Lawnside Academy to support learning under the direction of teaching staff. The role is 30 hours per week, term time plus training days, with a fixed term to August 2027.

DBS clearance and references are required, with an emphasis on safeguarding and pupil welfare. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to support pupil access to learning and help manage the classroom environment, ensuring a positive, inclusive

Teaching Assistant - Level 1 (Fixed Term initially to August 2027)

SALARY: NJC Level 1d Point 3 (£24,796 FTE per annum)

BASED AT: Lawnside Academy

RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal

HOURS: 30 hours per week, term time plus 5 training days (8:45am - 12:30pm, 30min lunch break, minus 1 x 15-minute coffee break / 1pm - 3:30pm)

PURPOSE OF ROLE

To work under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff, usually in the classroom with the teacher, supporting access to learning for pupils and providing general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
