Job summary

St Nicholas CofE Primary School in Wantage is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support children in their learning and development, helping them thrive academically and personally. Qualifications

  • Experience working with children.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
  • Works effectively as part of a team.

  • Willing to learn and engage in professional development opportunities.
  • Knowledge of child development (desirable).
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils in the classroom and during learning activities.
  • Provide individual and small-group support, including for pupils with additional needs.
  • Promote inclusion, independence and positive behaviour.
  • Assist with education, behaviour and personal care plans.

  • Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Support literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities.
  • Assist with educational visits, lunchtime supervision and other school activities as required.
