Job summary

Hollingbourne Primary School in Maidstone, Kent, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant 1:1 to support an individual child in Key Stage 2 during 29 hours per week, term-time only. The role includes lunch duties and supervision as required, within a friendly team.

The successful candidate will have experience with children, ideally with additional needs, be confident with phonics and child development, and able to work proactively.

Qualifications

Job description

Teaching Assistant 1:1

29 hours per week - Term time only.

Start and finish times: 8.45am-3.15pm (plus half an hour lunch duty)

This role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the Hollingbourne team. We need an energetic, enthusiastic and creative teaching assistant to join us in Key Stage 2 supporting an individual child within a class. We are looking for someone who can help make our children's journey through school both a memorable and enjoyable experience. We would also like you to support our children for some of lunchtime.

We will need you to be:

  • Someone who has experience of working with children, ideally those with additional needs.
  • Someone who relishes watching children flourish and progress
  • Someone who feels confident to take on the challenge of teaching smaller groups and be supported to supervise the class when necessary
  • Knowledgeable about the role of a teaching assistant
  • Someone who has a knowledge of phonics
  • Someone who has an understanding of child development
  • Able to work proactively, using own initiative
  • Resilient and flexible with change
