Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Kettering is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support pupils from September 2026. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils engage with learning and reach their potential, in a supportive school environment.

The ideal candidate is patient, caring, and adaptable, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Prior school experience is desirable but not essential; full-time long-term role in the area.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils engage with their learning and reach their full potential.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small-group basis.
• Assisting teachers with classroom activities and learning.
• Providing additional support to pupils who may have SEN or additional learning needs.
• Helping to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Supporting pupils with their confidence, engagement and independence.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and following school behaviour policies.
• Building strong and positive relationships with pupils.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of staff.
• Supporting pupils both academically and pastorally where required.
