Salford City Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students in achieving their full potential within our inclusive school community. You will work with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND team to provide high-quality support for learning and to remove barriers to education.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
• Patient and adaptable with a commitment to supporting all learners.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
• Willingness to participate in safeguarding procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support students in lessons, individually and in small groups, to enhance learning and engagement.
• Assist teachers with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities
• Provide targeted support for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), ensuring individual needs are met
• Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and independence in line with the school's behaviour policy
• Help monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Support students' social, emotional, and personal development
• Contribute to the creation of a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Assist with educational visits, enrichment activities, and other school events as required
• Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
