Job summary

Harwich and Dovercourt High School, part of The Sigma Trust, seeks a Teaching Assistant to support students under the One Plan and assist SENCo and teachers. This 27.5-hour/week, 39-week/year post is ideal for contributing to inclusive education in a vibrant school community.

The successful candidate will have GCSE English and Maths and a collaborative approach, ready to engage in reading interventions and progress tracking, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
• Seizes opportunities and takes the initiative to move things forward.
• Co-operates and works well with others to achieve team goals.

Responsibilities

• Understand individual student needs by being aware of their One Plan.
• Liaise with SENCo and classroom teachers to target support and impact progress.
• Facilitate reading programmes and document progress updates for SENCo.
