Job summary

Eaglesfield Paddle Primary Academy is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to begin immediately. You will join a supportive school team, helping to support children's learning, development and wellbeing across the school.

Under supervision of teachers, you will assist with planned activities, monitor pupil progress and contribute to a safe inclusive learning environment. Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm, 6 weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• Grade C/4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering planned learning activities and programmes, adapting activities to meet individual pupils' needs.
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support their learning, progress and development.
• Assist teachers with monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress and behaviour.
• Provide feedback and encouragement to pupils regarding attainment and progress.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and materials to support lessons and activities.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and physical wellbeing, reporting concerns to staff.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and inclusion throughout the school.
• Supervise and support pupils inside and outside the classroom, including educational visits and other school activities.
• Prepare and maintain learning areas and classroom displays.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and other professionals to meet pupils' individual needs.
• Communicate appropriately with staff, parents/carers and external agencies where required.
• Follow school policies including safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.
• Encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour and independence.
• Assist with the organisation and maintenance of classroom resources and equipment.
