Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment in London is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support learning in a bustling school in Teddington. You will work closely with teachers to help create a supportive environment that fosters pupil achievement and well-being.

This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 08:00–15:30, with pay aligned to national teaching assistant scales. Applicants should have GCSEs in English and Maths at grade 4/C or above and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Mathematics at grade 4/C or above.
• Relevant experience working with children in an educational setting (school, college, or community).
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to motivate learners.
• Familiarity with safeguarding policies and a commitment to child protection.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering the curriculum across all year groups.
• Provide one-to-one and small-group assistance to pupils, reinforcing lesson material and fostering confidence.
• Supervise pupils during classroom activities, lunchtime, and school outings, ensuring safety and positive behaviour.
• Aid in the preparation of teaching resources, marking, and record-keeping.
• Contribute to the implementation of differentiated strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Encourage parental communication and assist with progress reports when required.
