Job summary

AWD online is recruiting a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant for a part-time, permanent position at a secondary school in Hedge End, Southampton. The role offers 29.18 hours per week during term time, with four additional days outside core hours and flexible day allocation.

You will support students with SEND in classrooms and small groups, work closely with teachers, and participate in ongoing professional development. DBS and safeguarding checks apply.

• Commitment to supporting students with additional needs to develop and progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and small-group support across subject areas.
• Understand individual SEND needs and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Support student progress and contribute to positive learning relationships.
• Liaise with class teachers to understand required support and provide feedback on progress.
• Participate in safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
