An inclusive specialist school for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs based in Bath is looking for Teaching Assistants to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. Graduates qualified in Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology are encouraged to apply, but candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. The school has excellent transport links, and the role is full-time, starting ASAP. The students, aged 8 to 18, have significant developmental trauma, emotional needs, and behavioural challenges, and the successful candidate will support their wellbeing and personal development.
This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside therapists and psychologists on-site. You will gain practical experience with young people with significant needs, learning how to communicate and support them with guidance from trained professionals. You will also gain experience working with Special Needs such as Autism and ADHD. This role is ideal for aspiring educational or occupational psychologists, therapists, counsellors, teachers, or criminal justice professionals.
The school seeks a Teaching Assistant who is enthusiastic, passionate, and experienced. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and able to use their initiative. Resilience and confidence in managing challenging behaviour are desirable qualities.
