A Special Needs School for children with disabilities is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a perfect opportunity for a recent graduate looking to gain experience working with individuals with learning difficulties and mental health challenges.
Within your role, you will support children aged 3 to 18 with various additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, learning difficulties, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and physical disabilities. Working with such a range of ages and abilities will give you comprehensive insight into catering to each child's needs and tailoring your approach accordingly.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an integral part in ensuring all pupils are supported both emotionally and academically. You will assist with their education in subjects like Maths and English and help equip pupils with life skills such as social skills, interpersonal skills, and independent living skills. The school employs a unique approach to learning, incorporating art, music, cooking, and outdoor education into its curriculum.
This opportunity is ideal for recent university graduates, especially those with degrees in Psychology or Criminology, as you can utilize your academic knowledge in practical classroom scenarios.
