Job summary

Kedleston Group is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support young learners at Leaways School in London. You will help identify strategies to overcome barriers to learning and provide in-class support, while building strong relationships with pupils, families and staff.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, teamwork and a genuine passion for education, with training and development opportunities available within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs including autism.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Commitment to helping students thrive in education.
• Ability to build positive relationships with families and carers.

Responsibilities

• Identify strategies to help overcome individual pupils’ barriers to learning.
• Be prepared to use humour and restorative practice for a child-centred approach.
• Support the transition of new pupils or returning pupils with necessary support to overcome barriers.
• Provide in-class support to meet school needs.
• Liaise with staff to monitor pupils’ behaviour and well-being.
• Build positive relations with parents/carers to encourage family involvement in progress.
• Communicate with parents/carers about specific support in place for their child.
