Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Swansea. The role is to support children, including those who display challenging behaviour, and work closely with teaching staff to maintain engagement and positive behaviour.

This is a long-term, on-site position with the opportunity to access CPD courses and competitive pay. Immediate start for a committed candidate who can build strong relationships with pupils, parents and the school team.

The school is looking to take on a Teaching Assistant on a long-term basis, supporting children within the mainstream primary setting who can display challenging behaviour. The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with teaching staff to promote positive behaviour, provide consistent support and help pupils remain engaged and focused on their learning.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
• Experience working with children in a primary school or similar educational setting
• Experience supporting children who can display challenging behaviour
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
• A positive can-do attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team
