Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Bury is seeking a patient SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs throughout the school day.

You will build a trusting relationship, follow care plans and work with teachers, the SENCO and families to enable access to learning. Immediate start with competitive weekly pay and opportunities for CPD and professional development in a supportive team.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting others in TA, LSA, care, youth work or volunteering roles.
  • Background in psychology, education, childcare or health and social care is welcome.
  • Calm, kind and dependable approach with patience in challenging moments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Build a trusting relationship with the pupil to support wellbeing.
  • Support routines, communication and learning access at the pupil's pace.
  • Follow care plans and work closely with teachers, the SENCO and families.
  • Celebrate progress and monitor the pupil's development.

SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant (Primary)

Location: Bury

Pay: £470 to £570 per week

Job Type: Full-time, Temporary

A primary school in Bury is looking for a caring SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with multiple additional needs throughout their school day. This is a nurturing, care-focused role for someone who wants to build a trusting relationship with a child who needs consistency and kindness.

The Role

You will be the pupil's dedicated 1:1 support from arrival to home time, helping them feel safe, settled and able to take part in school life.

  • Provide 1:1 support throughout the whole school day
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil
  • Support routines, communication and emotional wellbeing
  • Help the pupil access learning at their own pace
  • Follow care plans, working closely with teachers, the SENCO and families
  • Celebrate small steps of progress

We're Looking For

  • Prior SEN experience isn't essential. Your kindness and commitment matter just as much, and you will be fully supported from day one.
