Job summary

Hayes School is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join our experienced team during term time. The role is part-time (27.5 hours) across 39 weeks per year, with a daily schedule of 09:00–15:00 and a 30-minute unpaid break.

The successful candidate will support inclusion, assist learners with literacy and numeracy, and work collaboratively with staff. A Level 3 teaching support qualification and SEND knowledge are desirable, and DBS checks will be required.

• Knowledge of SEND would be an advantage.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is required.

About this Role

Vacancy: Teaching Assistant

Contract: Permanent

Grade: TSPT4, 12-13 Points

Hours: 27.5 hours, 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days)

Monday to Friday 09:00am -3:00pm with 30 minute unpaid break

Salary: £16,700 - £16,819 (FTE £25,522- £25,703)

Start date: ASAP

We are looking for a committed, hard-working, enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate good classroom practice to join our experienced team supporting wider inclusion.

The successful candidate will be confident and willing to work collaboratively, committed and dedicated to improving children's learning and have good numeracy and literacy skills.

Previous experience of working in a school is essential and a Level 3 or equivalent teaching support qualification, together with knowledge of SEND would be an advantage. All members of staff are offered the opportunity and encouraged to undertake relevant training for their roles.
