Job summary

Lift Schools in Tendring is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support students with learning, build confidence and help them access lessons every day.

You will work with teachers to plan and assess lessons, support independent learning, and foster social inclusion; progression paths include Level 3/5 TA apprenticeships and an Initial Teacher Training programme. Join a diverse, supportive team committed to safeguarding students.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4+) or equivalent required or willingness to work towards functional skills.
• Experience working in a school or with young people is desirable but not essential.
• Strong communication and collaborative teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students with their learning needs to access lessons and achieve goals.
• Help students build independent learning skills and manage their progress.
• Work with teachers to plan and assess high quality lessons and targeted interventions.
• Build positive relationships with students and support their social, emotional and mental health wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, SENDCO and parents to support all students.
• Prepare resources and create a stimulating and safe learning environment.
