Job summary

Woodhouse Primary School in Trafford, Greater Manchester, invites applications for a Teaching Assistant 3 for Nursery starting November 2026. This full-time, term-time-only position (36.25 hours/week, 39 weeks) sits in our lively EYFS nursery and requires a Level 3 qualification.

You will support 3- to 5-year-olds across the EYFS, plan child-led activities, and work with families to nurture each child’s development in a warm, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (essential).
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development.
• Experience of working with children aged 3-5 in an educational setting.
• Understanding of how young children learn through play and exploration.

Responsibilities

• Support children aged 3-5 across all seven EYFS areas.
• Plan and deliver engaging, child-led learning experiences with the EYFS team.
• Build nurturing relationships to help children feel safe and excited to learn.
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development, including SEND or barriers to learning.
• Contribute to observations, assessments and next steps planning.
• Create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments.
• Work with parents and carers to support each child's journey.

Woodhouse Primary School is seeking an excellent Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant and nurturing Early Years Foundation Stage team, in our Nursery class. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of our youngest learners during their crucial first years of education.

About the role

As a Level 3 TA in our EYFS, you will:

• Support children aged 3-5 in their learning and development across all seven areas of the EYFS framework
• Work closely with our experienced EYFS team to plan and deliver engaging, child-led learning experiences
• Build strong, nurturing relationships with children, helping them feel safe, secure and excited to learn
• Support children's personal, social and emotional development, including those with SEND or facing barriers to learning
• Contribute to observations, assessments and next steps planning
• Create stimulating learning environments both indoors and outdoors
• Work in partnership with parents and carers to support each child's individual journey

We're looking for someone who

Has the qualifications and experience:

• Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent (essential)
• Demonstrable knowledge of the EYFS framework and early childhood development
• Experience of working with children aged 3 - 5 in an educational setting
• Understanding of how young children learn through play and exploration
