Job summary

St Mary’s School, part of the SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is recruiting Teaching Assistants at level 3 to join a supportive team. The role supports teachers in curriculum delivery and resource preparation, and involves working with pupils with a focus on safeguarding and development.

The post is permanent, term-time only, 30 hours per week (39 weeks worked per year), with a pro-rata salary starting from £18,741 per annum and a full-time equivalent range of £26,017–£26,428.

The main responsibility of the post will be to support teachers in the delivery of the curriculum, both by directly working with pupils and assisting in preparation of resources. We are looking for applicants who are innovative, enthusiastic and flexible, as well as having a keen interest and knowledge of child development and an understanding of child protection procedures. Applicants should also be able to demonstrate a sensitive and empathic approach to working with young pupils.

The working pattern is five days per week, Monday – Friday, from at least 08:30/45am to 15/15:30pm, term time only. Working hours to be discussed at interview and agreed on successful appointment. We are a friendly and supportive team, with additional benefits, such as free daily lunch.
