Job summary

Willow Tree Federation in Lancaster is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support children aged 3-4 at Appletree Nursery School. You will help ensure the best start in life and work with children with SEND, using your knowledge and best practice.

The role offers in-house and external training, with benefits through Lancashire County Council and health and wellbeing services; DBS checks apply. Salary is pro-rated for term-time work.

Qualifications

  • Essential qualifications include Maths and English Grade C/4 or above (desirable).
  • Desirable qualifications include First aid training, Level 2 Early Years Qualification, Food hygiene.
  • Essential experience includes understanding of SEND and Inclusion and ability to develop relationships with parents and carers.

Responsibilities

  • Support preschool class for 3–4 year olds using best practice to promote progression.
  • Work with children with SEND needs to ensure inclusive learning.
  • Build relationships with children, families and carers to support development.

Here at the Willow Tree Federation in Lancaster we are looking for a Teaching Assistant to support the ethos of our school and the development of our children in nursery at Appletree NurserySchool.

The Role

As a teaching assistant, you will be working in our preschool class for children aged 3 - 4 years old. You will be expected to use your knowledge and best practice to help ensure our children have the best start in life by helping them make the progress they need to succeed. You will be working with a range of children as teaching assistant, particularly with children with SEND needs.

Essential Qualifications
  • Maths and English Grade C/4 or above (desirable- you will have to have this by the time you qualify to work in Early Years)
  • A willingness to undertake relevant qualifications in the future

Essential Experience
