Job summary

Abbey Gate College seeks a friendly Teaching Assistant to support pupils in and out of the classroom, including 1:1 and small groups. This part-time role is two days per week during term time, with a preferred pattern at the start of the week.

The successful candidate will work under the Head of Learning Enrichment to support emotional and educational needs, prepare resources, and maintain a calm, inclusive learning environment. NVQ 3/4 and GCSEs are expected, with safeguarding duties included.

Qualifications

• Experience with KS3/4 and SEN pupils in a classroom.
• Commitment to safeguarding and student welfare.
• Ability to adapt resources and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Create a caring, supportive learning environment.
• Identify objectives and learning outcomes with teachers.
• Prepare teaching resources as directed by the class teacher.
• Attend staff meetings and CPD days and implement school policies.
• Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups as required.
• Assist with outings and sporting events where relevant.
