Job Title: Dedicated and Nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant

New Directions is looking to appoint a dedicated and nurturing 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support an individual pupil with additional learning needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s educational journey by providing tailored, one-to-one support in the classroom and beyond.

You will work closely with teaching staff, SEND specialists, and parents to help the pupil overcome barriers to learning, develop confidence, and achieve their full potential in a safe and inclusive environment.

Job Specification
  • Experience working with children or adults with additional needs
  • Ability to support children of all abilities
  • Positive and ambitious attitude towards learning
  • Experience in a SEN environment is desirable, but motivation, personal qualities, and resilience are equally valued
  • Commitment to safeguarding and creating an inclusive environment
  • Experience with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other specific learning needs is advantageous
Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and promote inclusive practices
  • Be patient, empathetic, and flexible in supporting students with varying needs
  • Build strong relationships with students and staff
