Job summary

Smile Education is recruiting for an SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a Worcester primary school. The role is full-time, 1:1 support for a child with autism, Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30.

You will help build independence, maintain strong communication with the class teacher, and ensure a safe, positive learning environment. Applicants must have an up-to-date DBS, a TA qualification or Health and Social Care Level 2/3, and provide two professional references.

Qualifications

• Up-to-date DBS on update service or dated within the last 12 months.
• Teaching assistant qualification or Health and Social Care Level 2/3.
• Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups.
• Experience with Primary school children.
• Two professional references covering last 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive.
• Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
• Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher regarding progress and potential methods of work.
• Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.

Smile Education are recruiting for an SEN Teaching assistant to work in a primary school in Worcester. We are working with a large school who are looking for a confident SEN Teaching assistant to come in and hit the ground running.

The SEN teaching assistant role would be working full time with a child on a 1:1 basis with autism, working Monday to Friday 8:30 to 3:30.

The Responsibilities of the SEN Teaching Assistant

• Encouraging independence within the class and within students, being proactive
• Develop and concentrate on building a relationship with the children, staff and family members.
• Constant and consistent communication with the class teacher, regarding progress and potential methods of work.
• Create a secure and positive environment for the child to learn and feel comfortable.

To apply for this SEN teaching assistant role, you will need:

• An up-to-date DBS on the update service or dated within the last 12 months.
• A teaching assistant qualification or health and social care (level 2 or 3).
• Experience working with SEN children on a 1:1 basis or small groups work.
• Experience working with Primary school children.
• At least 2 professional references covering the last 2 years of work history.
