Job summary

Smile Education are seeking passionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils across Worcester's primary schools and SEN settings. Opportunities include day-to-day supply, short-term, long-term, full-time and part-time roles.

You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access the curriculum, and implement personalised learning programmes, contributing to a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting pupils to access the primary curriculum and classroom activities
  • Working with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and behavioural difficulties
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Delivering targeted interventions and supporting individual learning plans
  • Assisting with EHCP targets and personalised learning programmes
  • Creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment
  • Working alongside teachers and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent support

SEN TEACHING ASSISTANTS NEEDED – WORCESTER

Smile Education are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary schools and primary SEN settings throughout Worcester. We have a variety of opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term and long-term placements, as well as full-time and part-time positions. Whether you are looking for flexibility around your existing commitments or a consistent long-term role, we may have an opportunity to suit you.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and wider support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs.

Depending on the setting, your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs
  • Supporting pupils to access the primary curriculum and classroom activities
  • Working with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
  • Supporting children with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and behavioural difficulties
  • Helping pupils develop confidence, independence and positive relationships
  • Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
  • Delivering targeted interventions and supporting individual learning plans

We work with a variety of primary settings across Worcester, including mainstream primary schools and specialist primary SEN provisions. Our schools are looking for reliable and enthusiastic support staff who can make a positive difference to pupils both academically and personally.

Opportunities are available for candidates with experience in mainstream classrooms, specialist SEN settings, alternative provision, residential care, youth work or other relevant child-focused environments.
