Job summary

Teaching Personnel Liverpool & Wirral are seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support partner secondary schools across Wirral. This full-time, long-term role starts ASAP in Birkenhead, Wallasey, South Wirral and surrounding areas.

You will work one-to-one and in small groups with students who have SEND (ASD, ADHD, SEMH or other learning needs), collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or SEN Support Worker.
• Experience with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH or learning difficulties.
• Confident with secondary-aged pupils.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people.

Responsibilities

• Support SEN students within mainstream secondary school settings.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom.
• Assist students with academic, social and emotional development.

Location: Wirral (Birkenhead, Wallasey, South Wirral and surrounding areas)
Pay: £95 - £110 per day
Hours: 6.5-hour school day
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Teaching Personnel Liverpool & Wirral are currently seeking experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to support a number of our partnership secondary schools across the Wirral. We are working closely with schools in Birkenhead, Wallasey, South Wirral, and surrounding areas to recruit dedicated support staff for full-time, long-term positions starting as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant looking to make a positive impact on the education and development of secondary-aged students with additional learning needs.

The Role

• Supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within mainstream secondary school settings.
• Providing one-to-one and small group support inside and outside the classroom.
• Assisting students with their academic, social, and emotional development.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to deliver tailored support strategies.
• Promoting positive behaviour and helping students engage with learning.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or SEN Support Worker.
• Experience supporting young people with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
• Confident working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, resilient, and passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
