Job summary

Teaching Personnel are currently recruiting Teaching Assistants to support a range of secondary schools across the Hulme area. We have opportunities available, including day-to-day supply, short-term cover, and long-term placements in a variety of different schools.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible work, to gain experience in different school settings, or secure a longer-term position.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students' learning and development.
  • Confidence working across a variety of subjects (core subject strengths desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Support students across KS3 and KS4 (and KS5 in some settings).
  • Work closely with teachers to deliver engaging and effective lessons.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils.
  • Assist students with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Support students with coursework, revision, and exam preparation.
  • Assignments may vary depending on the school; flexibility is key.

The Role

  • Assist students with varying needs, including SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
  • Support students with coursework, revision, and exam preparation
  • Assignments may vary depending on the school, but flexibility and adaptability are key.
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, coaching, youth work, etc.)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Essential
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Relevant references covering the last 2 years
Desirable
  • Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Experience in secondary schools
  • SEN experience or training

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
