Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a Teaching Assistant for flexible day-to-day supply across Birmingham and surrounding areas. Start date is immediate, with day rates of £90–£110. The role offers employment on a flexible, day-to-day basis within a number of Primary Schools.

You can work 1 day a week or 5, with opportunities for longer-term placements. Ideal candidates have prior primary support experience and a passion for helping children develop.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children in a Primary School setting.
• A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable attitude.
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's development.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers with classroom activities and daily learning.
• Work with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.
• Support children with SEND where required.

Whether you're looking for 1 day a week or 5, we have opportunities to suit your availability, with the potential for longer-term placements!

The successful Teaching Assistant will:

• Support teachers with classroom activities and daily learning.

• Work with pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support where required.

• Support children with additional learning needs, including SEND.

• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and confidence.

• Adapt quickly to different school environments and routines.

• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience supporting children in a Primary School setting.

• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable).

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable).

• A positive, enthusiastic and adaptable attitude.

• Strong communication and behaviour management skills.

• A genuine passion for supporting children's development.
