Job summary

Long Term Futures in Wandsworth (London) is seeking a resilient Teaching Assistant to support the class, deliver targeted interventions, and assist pupils from Year 1 to 6, including SEND and SEMH needs. The role is full-time on a long-term temporary basis.

You will work under the guidance of the class teacher, support KS1-KS2 learning, and contribute to a safe, nurturing classroom environment. The position offers stability and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous.
• Adapt activities to meet diverse needs of children.
• Strong behaviour management and ability to build rapport.
• Experience delivering targeted interventions.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with classroom management and running activities.
• Provide targeted interventions to students with ASD or other SEN needs.
• Support pupils from Year 1-6 in their curriculum and learning tasks.
• Deliver 1:1 support and small group instruction as required.
• Ensure pupils are safe and supervised at all times.

Long Term Futures are seeking a resilient and proactive Teaching Assistant to work on a full time long term temporary basis. The role itself is based in Wandsworth and would be helping students with the curriculum and 1:1 support where needed. Flexibility will be required and a willingness to work with both KS1 and KS2 along with supporting SEND and SEMH needs as and when required.

About the Role:

• Teaching Assistants support the class teacher with the running of the class
• Providing targeted interventions to students with ASD and other related SEN needs
• Supporting students from Year 1-6 in their curriculum
• 1:1 support and small group based work
• Ensuring the pupils are safe and secure at all times

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Teaching Assistant qualification would be advantageous
• A creative approach to learning and the flexibility to adapt activities and strategies to meet the diverse needs of children
• Strong behaviour management and the ability to build rapport with students across all year groups
• Reliable and committed to a long-term placement
• Proven experience delivering targeting interventions
• Experience working with the KS2 curriculum
