Job summary

Flourish Education in Tewkesbury is seeking a flexible Teaching Assistant to join an after-school club on a long-term, part-time basis working 3:15pm–6:00pm five days a week.

The role supports Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils, collaborates with class teachers, and aims to create a safe, inclusive environment for activities, games and enrichment after school.

UK school experience is essential, Level 2/3 TA qualifications desirable, and competitive day rates are offered by Flourish Education.

Job description

Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant, looking for a part-time after-school role? A welcome Primary School in Tewkesbury are seeking a flexible and committed Teaching Assistant to support their after-school club on a long-term contract. This role is to work 5 days per week, supporting teaching staff in the supervision of children across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 for after-school activities, running from 3:15pm until 6pm.

As an after-school Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

• Support the Class Teacher and wider school team in delivering engaging activities within the after-school club.
• Work as a Teaching Assistant supporting pupils with a range of activities, games and learning opportunities.
• Support pupils across different classes, adapting activities and approaches to suit a range of ages and abilities.
• Help create a fun, safe and inclusive environment where pupils can enjoy their time after the school day.
• Assist with learning activities, creative tasks, games and other enrichment opportunities within the after-school club.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage pupils to develop confidence, independence and positive relationships with their peers.
• Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher and wider staff team to ensure the needs of all pupils are supported.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing environment in line with the school's policies and procedures.

To be successful in this Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

• Previous UK school experience is essential.
• Experience working as a Teaching Assistant, TA, Learning Support Assistant or within an educational setting.
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
• Experience supporting children across different age groups and abilities.
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development.
• Excellent communication, patience and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• A proactive, flexible and enthusiastic approach to supporting children in an after-school setting.
