Job summary

Thistley Hough Academy in Stoke-on-Trent invites applications for a Teaching Assistant. The role is full-time (37 hours term-time plus one week in holidays, 39 weeks total) with a permanent contract and a Grade 5 pay scale (£25,989‑£28,142 per annum).

You will assist with small group work, support teachers in delivery and pastoral care, monitor student progress, and build positive relationships with students, staff and families. Experience with SEND and an enhanced DBS are expected.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at grade C/4 or above or equivalent
• Ability to build professional relationships with children
• Strong communication skills with students, parents and colleagues

Job Details

Responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience

• Good reading, writing and maths skills, with GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).

• Strong communication skills, friendly and clear with students, parents and colleagues.
• Can work well alone and as part of a team.
• Proactive, organised and committed to supporting student success.

Commitment to Safeguarding

• Full enhanced DBS check required.
